What are the dates for camp?
2022 Camp Smile will be in operation from July 11th to August 5th. Counselors may volunteer 1, 2, 3, or 4 weeks.

What are the camp hours?
Our camp program begins at 9:00 am and ends at 3:00 PM.

Where is Camp Smile located?
Camp Smile located at Kiwanis Lodge in Webster, New York. The Lodge in on Shangri La Lane off Pellet Road. It is a beautiful wooded area, perfect for learning about nature.

Do I get paid to work at Camp Smile?
Our Camp Smile CITs and counselors are a part of camp on a volunteer basis. Becoming a counselor is a great way to attain volunteer hours for school, scouts or other requirements.

How old do I need to be in order to be a counselor at Camp Smile?
We accept CITs and counselors ages thirteen to adult.

What should I wear to camp?
Camp shirts or modest tank tops should be worn each day. Your personal appearance is important. We require athletic-type shorts.For instance, you are certainly free to wear walking shorts or other types of shorts/pants as long as they are neat. Sneakers are the normal footwear. We insist on a neat appearance for all counselors/CITs.

How many campers will I be working with?
Camp Smile maintains a typical ratio of 1 counselor to 1 camper with possibly a CIT (Counselor-In-Training) included because our campers are all Visually Impaired or Blind.

Where do the campers and counselors come from?
Campers and counselors are from all over Monroe County.

Should I bring a lunch to camp?
Lunch is provided daily to all campers and counselors. The lunch options vary daily and are often related to the theme of the week! We are able to accommodate your camper’s food and diet needs (e.g., allergies, sensitivities, etc.). At times, campers are involved in practicing their cooking skills in helping prepare lunch! Counselors are always welcome to bring their own packed lunch if desired.
